Monica Tharp

Director of Human Resources

Monica Tharp is the director of human resources for DHA. In her position, Monica is responsible for directing all of DHA’s human resource functions so that they ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures. She leads the Human Resources Department in areas of recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and training and development.

Monica received Bachelor of Business degree in Personnel Management from the University of Texas at San Antonio. With 25 years of experience in human resources, Monica has been with DHA since October of 2002. When she first started with DHA, Monica served as a benefits administrator, a position she held for 15 years before moving into her position at director of human resources.

Prior to joining DHA, Monica was an HR generalist for Child Care Resource Center in Van Nuys, California. Monica is proud to be a part of the impact DHA and its staff are having on the community, and she is excited to continue watching that impact multiply over the years to come. As a reflection of her passion to help others achieve success, Monica spends much of her time outside of work mentoring teens and youth.
