Greg Mays
Special Counsel
Greg Mays has provided countless contributions to the Dallas community throughout the course of his career. From community involvement as a teacher, mentor and tutor for the Dallas Independent School District’s Advancement via Individual Determination (“AVID”) college preparedness program, to his role as attorney for African-American flood victims in South Dallas–Mr. Mays has dedicated his career to public interest, as well as real estate and corporate matters to make a difference across North Texas.
Mr. Mays first served DHA, Housing Solutions for North Texas as general counsel for a span of 13 years. Here, he provided legal expertise in the areas of real estate transactions, corporate matters and financial transactions. Mays oversaw DHA’s Office of General Counsel (“OGC”), where he was responsible for managing the agency’s corporate by-laws, policies, procedures and compliance.
In 2023, Mays returned to the DHA team as special counsel. As special counsel, Mr. Mays handles agency legal matters including the management of complex contracts, negotiation and documentation of real estate development and acquisition transactions and various other litigation affairs.
Mays is an alumni of Leadership Dallas (LD), a ten-month leadership development program led by the Dallas Regional Chamber. Mays earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also attended the Wharton School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from State University of New York at Stony Brook.
