Karon Arnold

Director of Compliance and Training

Karon acts as director of compliance and training for DHA, a role she has held since 2021. She is responsible for the development and management of procedures that accomplish strict compliance with internal and external regulations for DHA. She maintains current, up-to-date information on all agency compliance requirements. Further, Karon monitors and suggests improvements to standard operating procedures and communicates those requirements with internal and property personnel.

Prior to joining DHA, Karon worked in real estate and compliance for over 20 years. For the last 10 years, Karon focused solely on affordable multifamily housing. Through her experience, she developed a true commitment to affordable housing and a passion for providing assistance to those in need of a safe and stable place to call home.

Karon attended Northeast Louisiana University at Monroe (currently ULM), where she studied finance and music. She is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) and Specialist in Housing Credit Management (SHCM).

Outside of the office, Karon is involved in various leadership roles including the National Leased Housing Association (NLHA) and National Affordable Housing Management Agency (NAHMA). She served as co-director of the Southwestern Affordable Housing Management Association (SW-AHMA) from 2018 to 2021 and was named Industry Partner of the Year in 2015 and 2018. She is currently nominated to serve on the Affordable Housing Management Association of East Texas (AHMA) Board of Directors.
