DHA reports zero deficiencies from independent audit report

DHA Reports Zero Deficiencies from Independent Audit Report and Announces High Performer Ranking from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

The Dallas Housing Authority (DHA) received its 2017 independent audit report from CohnReznick LLP on August 9, 2018.

The audit shows no findings or deficiencies for four consecutive years. As per the report, DHA’s financial statements, program management and internal controls tested passed without any findings.

DHA is the 10th largest public housing authority out of some 3,600 in the nation. The agency provides affordable housing opportunities for 54,000 people through public housing developments and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs.

Additionally, DHA’s Housing Choice Voucher and public housing programs earned ‘High Performer’ status, which is HUD’s highest rating. The performance measures show whether public housing agencies help eligible families to afford decent rental units at a reasonable subsidy cost as intended by federal housing legislation.

HUD has set three performance grades:
“High Performers” (overall score of 90%+)
“Standard” (60-89%)
“Troubled” (0-59%)

“Our audit results and HUD’s ‘High Performer’ designation is a clear result of our commitment and integrity,” said Troy Broussard, chief executive officer and president of DHA. “We thank our independent auditors for their diligent review of our finances, program compliance and operations and HUD for its oversight and governance of our programs. DHA is committed and dedicated to deliver a high level of service to our community,” he concluded.
